We typically find ourselves along the island’s western shores near Ka'anapali Beach, but on this evening, we decided to explore the southern coastline near Wailea. We followed the shoreline to a beach we had never visited before, not knowing what we might find.

What we discovered was unforgettable.

As the sun began its descent over the Pacific, the entire coastline seemed to glow. I moved along the shore, searching for the right perspective, until the scene came together perfectly. The luminous sunset stretching across the horizon, the calm Pacific beyond, and a graceful line of palm trees framing the beach cove along the edge of the composition.

It was one of those unexpected discoveries that makes exploring somewhere familiar feel entirely new.

By the time the sun disappeared beyond the horizon, we already knew this would not be our last visit to this beautiful stretch of Maui. Some places reveal their magic slowly. Others capture you immediately.

This was one of those places.
