Description
Some of the most memorable scenes in Joshua Tree are found beyond the familiar viewpoints. Near Skull Rock and Jumbo Rocks, I wandered off the beaten path and discovered this distinctive Joshua tree standing alone among the rugged desert landscape. As sunset approached, warm evening light filled the horizon while the surrounding desert faded into shadow, emphasizing the tree’s twisted and unusual shape. No two Joshua trees seem exactly alike, and sometimes the one that catches your attention is not beside a famous trail or landmark. Sometimes you simply have to wander a little farther and discover the one that stands apart.
