Sand Harbor Sunset

As the day begins to fade over Lake Tahoe, Sand Harbor takes on an entirely different character.

The brilliant blues of the afternoon soften beneath the evening sky as the last light of sunset stretches across the lake. Along the shoreline, Tahoe’s unmistakable granite boulders rise from the clear water, creating one of the most iconic landscapes in the Sierra Nevada.

As the sun moves closer to the horizon, color begins to settle across the scene.

Warm evening light touches the rocks while subtle reflections move across the surface of the lake. The mountains in the distance slowly fade into layers of shadow, and the shoreline grows quieter as another day at Tahoe comes to an end.

There is something about Sand Harbor that seems perfectly suited for sunset.

And the incredible sense of scale that makes Lake Tahoe feel almost endless.

Eventually, the last traces of daylight disappear and the colors begin to fade.

The shoreline grows quiet.

The lake settles beneath the evening sky.

And another beautiful day at Lake Tahoe ends with the last light over Sand Harbor.
