Among the Clouds

There are few landmarks in Oregon as enduring—or as instantly recognizable—as Mount Hood.

From this elevated vantage point, the mountain reveals a different side of its character. Rather than towering overhead, it rises gracefully across the landscape, commanding the horizon with a quiet confidence that has defined the Pacific Northwest for countless generations.

On this summer afternoon, towering clouds drifted lazily overhead, their shadows sweeping across the mountain's broad slopes. Sunlight and shade danced across the volcanic landscape, constantly reshaping the scene as the afternoon unfolded. No two moments were ever quite the same.
