Description
Our first hike around Todd Lake revealed a view I knew I wanted to photograph. Across the water, Mount Bachelor rose above the landscape, and I could imagine what the scene might become at sunset. So we returned. As evening settled over the Cascades, the landscape faded into shadow while the last sunlight illuminated Mount Bachelor in warm alpenglow. The scene I had imagined finally came to life. Sometimes the best photographs begin long before the shutter is pressed, with simply recognizing the possibility of a moment and returning when the light is ready.
